A US bank account, started before you land

Banks want a US number and a US address. You'll have both, so we can start the application from abroad with a bank that accepts F-1 students, and its security codes land on your own line.

What schol handles

  • Pick a bank that accepts F-1 students without an SSN
  • Pre-fill the application from your profile
  • Set up two-factor codes on your schol number

What only you do

Confirm your identity with the bank. Some ask you to finish in a branch once you land.

Text schol

Opens Messages with “Hi schol! Can you help me open a US bank account?” ready to send. Your first text claims your US number.

On a computer? Scan with your phone's camera to open Messages with it ready to send. Or text “Hi schol! Can you help me open a US bank account?” to +1 (415) 867-9016.
